Phlegm, snot, mucous - all that 'yukky stuff' - let's get into it.
When you breath not only does air enter your body but so do a multitude of other particles including dust, germs, toxins, air pollutants and pollen just to name a few. Your body produces mucous to collect these particles and expel them from your body - what a well designed system!
If you don't produce enough mucous, these particles may stay inside your nose, sinuses, lungs etc and build up. Think what happens if you don't dust your house for a month. Imagine that building up inside you.
If your body gets the wrong messages and produces too much mucous that can be annoying too - think hay fever.
Is your body getting the correct messages and producing the ideal amount of mucous relative to what is coming in? Is you brain tuned in to your body's needs or does it need adjusting?
